Details
Velvet Rose has a champion pedigree loaded with color genetics. Her sire is the champion Snowmass Velvetier -- a Snowmass Velvet Touche son. Her dam is Andina's Rose Pearl -- a Snowmass Silver Signature daughter.

In fact, if you are interested in Snowmass genetics, Velvet Rose is actually 3/4 Snowmass pedigree. Her Snowmass lineage includes: (Snowmass) Velvet Touche, Royal Splendor, Invincible, Royal Bronze, Serenity Sunbeam, Matrix, Royal Flush, Sweet Dreams, Peruvian Casanova, Andean Bronze, Quechua. On top of that she bears genetics from Accoyo Victor by way of Victor's Julius. If you know Victor progeny, you know that they have lingering fineness.

Velvet Rose has good conformation on a square frame. She is well covered in fleece that is bright and long in staple length, with a high frequency crimp style. Her fiber is very fine with good density for her fineness. She is a sweet girl with lots of potential in a our breeding program.

She was first bred to our Dauntless but slipped her breeding. Then, she was 'lost in the shuffle' as we moved so that she wasn't bred during our transition year. As soon as we were situated, we added her back into our breeding queue with a breeding to our Axios.

Well a sad for us when her little girl, sired by Axios, died at 3 days old. She was a bit premature but had been nursing well. The weather had been odd, filled with rainy days punctuated by really hot ones, and we think the heat on one day just was too hard on her metabolic control despite being kept inside the barn. She was a very pretty girl.

Then, we bred Velvet to our Supermassive -- a male that didn't get enough use on our farm since we tend to promote grey and black breedings lately. He has "the look" that the judges want to see plus the 'sexy' crimp that boosts perceived density. This was her breeding for the 2024 season. Unfortunately, Velvet just slipped her pregnancy after several weeks pregnant, which is not unheard of, but we are too late in our season to breed again.

However we still need to reduce our herd size so we have offered her at a drastically low price simply to help her move on to her new farm. This far below the price she took to bring her here and well below her value. She is still a lovely girl with beautiful fleece and deserves a chance -- hence her pricing strikingly low to attract interest.
